Opinion Poll

The zebra rug was in Lu's room, the former guest room now pre-nursery, but it's not meshing with my vision for Bradly's room. (Plus, Lu had secretly scratched and frayed the edge that was hidden under the bed so that it can longer float in the middle of a room or it would look pretty shabby. Now, Lu's fun-time edge needs to be tucked under another bed or couch or something.)

Sooo, what do you think of the rug here, layered over the seagrass? Is it too much? I think I like it, but I'm looking for honesty. It could easily go in our bedroom, too.

For reference, here's a no zebra rug shot from a long time ago.

And one other no rug shot... Oh, look, there's W. How'd he get in there?

But, seriously, what do you think?

Oh, This, Too

I got the hardware for the changing table yesterday in the mail. The holes need to be drilled and enlarged, so I haven't gotten around to attaching them yet. Some people think they look old-ladyish, but I think they look like earrings.

Oldies

Photo via here

I don't typically listen to oldies, but Carter programmed my pre-set buttons in my car, and when I heard more fundraising hoopla on NPR, I moved on down the line to my #3 station, KLUV, on the way to work this morning. To my surprise (and delight?) I heard "Jump" by Van Halen on the oldies station. I just googled "Jump" and found out it came out in 1984. Does this really classify as an oldie, KLUV?

Thinking back, I will also note that when we go to Old Neighborhood Grill on Saturday mornings for breakfast, I've noticed that KLUV (what a predictable station choice, Old Neighborhood Grill) has been shifting to younger oldies. I apparently have a false notion that oldies come from the 50s, 60s, and maybe 70s... but this appears to be an antiquated idea.

Week 19--From head to rump, Bradly is as long as a small cantaloupe.

Before We Even Knew

We went to a fun wedding in June of one of Carter's old time friends. I was pregnant but didn't know it yet. (Um, let's not think about the champagne I had that night.)

I scanned these in so, they're a little hazy.

Jack's Birthday

I'm late in posting these pictures, but here's Jack's first birthday party. It was awesome. The food was great; the backyard great; the sprinkler and inflatable balls great; the peeps great.

My sis with the birthday boy and W who can't be bothered with posing for pictures.

Poppa and W hanging out inside, caught mid-leap and showing off his cool tattoo.

Hanging out with other preggers, imagining our lives a year from now.

Grinning with Mom, talking about my belly.
