I Need You to Be Brutal.

Despite the fact that I just got a trim last week (after not getting it cut for nearly a full year), I'm thinking about bangs today. Am I crazy?

Zooey image here (Do you ever think she's ever so slightly pretentious and annoying? Not majorly. Just like enough already with your veganism and cute cute cuteness. I get it. Just me? Okay.)

I have a tragic 5-finger forehead.

It is indomitable. The hope is that bangs could mitigate and mellow that billboard pate.

I wash my hair everyday now, but do you think they'd get greasy and gross by afternoon anyway? Especially this summer when it's stupid humid?

Oh, the conflict.

I have never noticed your forehead as anything but beautiful... but I might adopt The Superdome (witty and scathing) as my own nickname. :)

My coworkers and I actually measured our foreheads with rulers awhile back. Guess who was the big winner! I got bangs shortly after and haven't looked back. Sometimes I get furiously annoyed with them, but then I pin them back and remember why I got them in the first place. So that's the long and short of it, and I agree--you should give it a shot! (Oh, but a word to the wise: you can always go shorter, so start long and work up.)

Definitely get the bangs! I don't think you will regret it. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will have to get them trimmed pretty frequently so it is best if your hairstylist does free bang trims, or find one who does. On the days that it gets so hot you truly can't stand them on your face you can always pin them back or to the side. I love bangs in the summer especially because my hair ends up in a ponytail all the time and the bangs sort of dress it up and make it look more "on purpose" and less like I'm on my way to the gym. Go for it!
